About

In my classroom, I create lessons and classroom environments that promote equity, cultural awareness, and creative thinking. My curriculum supports an inclusive and meaningful view of the visual arts, sharing with students what is possible both inside and outside of the art room.  All lessons are designed to make art relevant and meaningful, making connections to pop culture, literature, art history, music, and current events. I believe that all students are artists, and that the art room is the ideal place to learn important lifelong skills including creativity, self expression, and perseverance.

In my studio, I use both hand-building and wheel throwing techniques with a focus on multi-layered surface design. My work is inspired by the beauty of my home state, and my passion for exploring and spending time in nature. Experimenting with forms, textures, and glazes makes each of my ceramic pieces a unique work of art.
